STEVE HANSEN

Guitar

Steve lives in Milton, FL with his wife Kelly, son Cole and daughter Kennedy. Originally from Mason City, IA, Steve took his first guitar lessons at the age of 10. However, he recalls learning the riff to Quiet Riot's Bang Your Head at age 13 as the moment that really ignited his interest in playing guitar.
He spent his high school years jamming with a drummer friend of his who shared an interest in the music of Rush. Not surprisingly they spent most of their time playing and learning Rush songs. In addition to Rush, Steve enjoyed playing music from bands such as AC/DC, Cream, Def Leppard, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Van Halen. He also played guitar in his high school's jazz band. His Ibanez Destroyer (pointy shaped guitar mostly encountered on stages of metal/hard rock bands) at the time added a much needed dose of attitude to the otherwise conservative jazz band image.
Attending college at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, Steve was often found in the basement of his fraternity house, practicing with his band at the time. The band kicked ass covering songs by the likes of The Doors, The Rolling Stones, The Cult, The Black Crowes, Sammy Hagar, Jimi Hendrix.
Eventually Steve found himself in graduate school at the University of Minnesota to obtain a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Between studies, starting a family, and starting a career, he didn't have much time or energy left for guitar and gave it a rest for about 10 years. During this time he launched a software development company, wrote two books, and helped raise two incredible kids.
Steve moved to Pensacola in 2014 and is excited to have found a great group of musicians who not only share an incredible passion for music, but are truly great people.
